The following directions will detail game set up, play and safety.
The set is completely assembled and only needs to be mounted on a wall. Mount the set so that the bull’s eye is 5’8” from the floor. It is recommended to mount the board to studs (usually 16” inches apart for most construction). If studs are not available then use quality drywall anchors.
Put a marker (tape), on the floor, 7’9 ¼” from the dartboard playing surface. This is the throwing or hockey line from which to throw the darts and ring.
Hint #1: You will want to throw the ring from a foot or more behind this line in most cases.
For the ring you will want to screw the included loop eye into the ceiling directly in line with the hook or bull’s-eye 5 feet from the hook (varies depending on ceiling height). The ring has been fixed to the rope but the rope will need to be fixed to the eye. To do this put the ring on the hook and pull the rope through the eye. Tie the rope off with a little (1/2 inch) slack between the eye and the hook. Cut the remaining rope off and if you are comfortable burn the cut end of the rope. If tied tight enough the burning of the rope may not be necessary.
You are now ready to play.
The dart instructions from your new dart board are included.
To play the ring game, see the following:
Player 1 gets 3 throws. If the player hooks the ring on any of those throws they get three more throws from that point. If they throw 3 straight without a “ring” then it is the next players turn and so on.
Once a player hits 7 rings" they are down to the last ring to win. This, the 8th ring, must be hooked with the player throwing the ring out from the board
(player stands with back touching the wall that the board is attached to).
The 8th ring obviously can be the most difficult
and takes practice.
Hint#2: Make the ring take the same path back as it does when you throw it from the regular line.
Hint #3. When throwing the ring from the regular line throw it gently and aim about 2 to 3 inches to the side of the hook so it goes up and curves slightly onto the hook. Do not throw directly at the hook or too far outside with an exaggerated hooking motion.
